Bjorkstrand scored an unassisted beauty early in the second period to get the Blue Jackets on the board in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Islanders.

The Isles coughed up the puck at their own blue line and the rookie pounced, scooping it up, skating in and then snapping a wrister into the top corner over a helpless Thomas Greiss. Bjorkstrand now has four goals, six points, a plus-5 rating and 24 shots on goal in his last seven games, and it's no coincidence that the Jackets have won six of those seven. He's still a few weeks shy of his 22nd birthday, but the young Dane has made it clear over the past month that he belongs in the NHL.
