Gavrikov scored two goals, including the game-winner, in Monday's 7-4 victory over the Sabres.
The 26-year-old hadn't been much of an offensive contributor through his first two NHL campaigns, but Gavrikov could be adding some scoring to his resume in addition to his hits and blocked shots. While Monday's goals were his first of the season, he's now up to nine points in 16 games, a huge jump in pace from the 12 points in 55 games he managed in 2020-21. With Seth Jones in Chicago, there's room for a second threat on the Columbus blue line behind Zach Werenski, and Gavrikov is stepping up to claim that spot.
