Carlo notched his first career NHL goal while seeing 24:27 worth of ice time in a 4-1 win over the Jets on Monday .

Early on, the 2015 second-rounder leads NHL rookies with a plus-7 rating while working in tandem with veteran defender Zdeno Chara. Although Carlo doesn't profile as an offensive-minded blueliner, he has good size (6-foot-5, 203 pounds) and plays with tremendous poise for a 19-year-old just three games into his NHL career. He's not seeing much power-play time, and that's not likely to change unless injuries hit, but barring some sort of unexpected regression as the season rolls along, Carlo appears to have cemented a steady role with the big club.
