Vaakanainen (upper body) practiced with AHL Providence on Tuesday, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports.

Vaakanainen wasn't on the Bruins' initial roster heading into the 2021-22 season and now past an upper-body issue, he's in line to begin the campaign at the AHL level. The 2017 first-rounder, who has two assists in 16 NHL games to his credit to date, is a candidate for an in-season recall once injuries hit the big club's blue line.
