McIntyre finished the 2015-16 regular season with a 14-8-7 record, 2.68 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage for AHL Providence, the Boston Herald reports.

McIntyre's last appearance, in the Baby B's playoff finale, was forgettable, as he allowed four goals on 13 shots to Wilkes-Barre Scranton, but the 23-year-old will remain on the B's goaltending prospect radar in 2016-17, along with former first-rounder Malcolm Subban. At this stage, both are blocked for playing time by entrenched Boston starter Tuukka Rask, though we suspect that there will be an open training camp competition for the team's top backup job this coming fall.
