Jones won't be qualified by the Blackhawks and will become a free agent Saturday, Mark Spector of Sportsnet reports.
Jones posted 16 points in 73 games with the Blackhawks last season and even featured on the power play, so this is a notable departure. The defenseman should garner some interest on the open market as a bottom-four option.
