Primeau was placed in the NHL's COVID-19 protocols Wednesday.

Primeau's status is in doubt for Thursday's contest as he will need to submit two negative COVID-19 tests prior to returning. The 22-year-old's absence leaves Samuel Montembeault as the lone available goalie for the Canadiens.
