Drouin will be sidelined indefinitely due to an upper-body injury, the team announced Friday.

Drouin was already away from the team due to a COVID-19 close contact and is now facing an extended absence. With approximately five weeks left in the NHL season, it's not impossible that Drouin has played his last game this year. If that's the case, he would end the 2021-22 campaign having tallied six goals and 14 helpers in 34 games, marking his sixth 20-point season in his eight-year career.
