Clague scored a goal on one shot and delivered one hit in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to Tampa Bay.
Clague knotted the game at three goals apiece when he took a feed from Cole Caufield and clanged a missile off the post to the left of Max Lagace. It was the first goal in 34 NHL games for Clague, who joined the Canadiens early December off waivers from the Kings. He's appeared all six games since being claimed by Montreal and should be part of the lineup for road games Thursday against the Hurricanes and Saturday against the Panthers. Beyond that, the NHL postponed several home games, and the Habs will resume play Jan. 12 in Boston. At that point, Ben Chiarot, Jeff Petry and Chris Wideman could be off the COVID-19 protocols list. And Joel Edmundson (back), also in COVID-19 protocols, could return.
