Markstrom has resumed skating and announced that his knee is "healing up great."
The Swedish backstop made an April 11 prediction that he'd be healthy in a month, and while it wasn't explicitly stated that he's fully recovered from surgery, his return to the ice this early in the offseason leads us to believe he'll be ready at the start of the 2017-18 campaign. Ryan Miller is a pending unrestricted free agent, whereas Markstrom is signed through the 2019-20 campaign and looking to secure a role as a full-fledged starter for the first time in his career.
