Leason was shipped down to the minors Monday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
With the Caps adding Marcus Johansson and Johan Larsson (lower body) at the deadline, Leason finds himself the odd man out for a spot in the lineup. Still, Leason should be atop the list of potential call-ups throughout the remainder of the year should an injury or two pop up among the club's forwards.
