Dowd (upper body) will not be available Friday against the Sabres, Samantha Pell of The Washington Post reports.
Despite participating in Friday's morning skate, Dowd is not ready to return and will end up missing his third straight game. The 31-year-old forward will be considered questionable for Saturday's matchup with the Devils. He has 17 points through 50 games on the year.
