Vanecek was sharp behind a patchwork lineup, yielding just two goals for the second straight start. The Czech goalie improved to 6-3-5 with a 2.47 GAA and a .913 save percentage in 15 appearances this season. Vanecek has seen more of a backup's workload lately, though both he and Ilya Samsonov have been solid in goal.
