The Capitals reassigned Fucale to AHL Hershey on Saturday.
Fucale was briefly recalled during Washington's road trip as an insurance policy while the team was out west but will return to the minors ranks now that the Capitals are back on the east coast. The 26-year-old recorded a 21-save shutout in his only start at the NHL level thus far in the 2021-22 season.
