Eriksson, Jay Beagle, Antoine Roussel ,the ninth overall pick in Friday night's Entry Draft, a 2022 second-round pick and a 2023 seventh-round pick were traded by the Canucks to the Coyotes in exchange for Conor Garland and Oliver Ekman-Larsson on Friday, TSN.ca reports.

Eriksson has just one season remaining on his albatross of a six-year, $36 million deal, and the Coyotes aren't in a position to compete in 2021-22, so they've essentially decided to take on several ugly short-term contracts while sending Garland and Ekman-Larsson to Vancouver in order to acquire the ninth overall pick in Friday evening's draft. Eriksson appeared in just seven games with the Canucks last season, tallying one helper over that span, and it isn't clear if he'll have a regular role with Arizona next year.
