Bernier is an option for the Golden Knights in the expansion draft since he was left unprotected, theScore reports.

It seems like so long ago that Bernier was struggling to keep an NHL job with the Maple Leafs, but he embraced the role as a backup for the Ducks this year and posted a spectacular 21-7-4 record in spite of average peripherals (2.51 GAA, .915 save percentage) during the regular season. His four-game playoff output wasn't nearly as strong (3.29 GAA, .873 save mark), but at least fantasy owners could depend on him at various intervals of the campaign. Still, exposing Bernier was an absolute no-brainer for the Ducks, as he'll become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
