Bernier stopped 16 of 18 shots in relief of an injured John Gibson (lower body) in Saturday's Game 5 loss to Nashville.
Gibson said he should be ready for Game 6, so don't expect the Ducks to turn back to Bernier. The former Maple Leaf has posted a .905 save percentage in three relief appearances this postseason, failing to make the impact he would need to even be considered to start a game in place of Gibson. He's a reliable backup in Anaheim, but the crease is Gibson's and it'll take a serious injury or a major slump for Bernier to get a shot.
