Sandstrom allowed three goals on 46 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Sharks.
Sandstrom came within 31 seconds of forcing a shootout. Despite the result, this was a good performance for the 24-year-old in his NHL debut. It's unclear if he'll get another chance to start a game before Carter Hart clears the league's COVID-19 protocols. Sandstrom is still likely to be at least the backup to Carter Hart in the short term.
