Friedman was waived by Philadelphia on Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Friedman has been a healthy scratch for all but one of the Flyers' last eight games, so this move doesn't come as a surprise. He'll likely be assigned to Philly's taxi squad if he passes through waivers unclaimed.
