Ersson was promoted by Philadelphia on Wednesday.
Ersson has a 2.72 GAA and .910 save percentage in 18 AHL contests this season. The Flyers needed another goaltender because Felix Sandstrom is dealing with an illness. Philadelphia will play in Toronto on Thursday and in Carolina on Friday, so perhaps Ersson will get the opportunity to make his first NHL start in one of those contests.
