Brooks was claimed off waivers by the Golden Knights from the Canadiens on Wednesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Brooks will provide Vegas with some much-needed depth at center with William Karlsson (foot) out long term. The 25-year-old Brooks has picked up four goals and five helpers through 22 games over the past three campaigns.
