Samsonov turned aside 45 shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Panthers.
Florida poured on the pressure after falling behind 1-0 just before the first intermission, firing 15 shots at Samsonov in the second and third periods, and the 27-year-old goalie did well just to get the game to OT. He's looked good to begin the season, posting a .931 save percentage in his first two starts, and with Adin Hill stumbling to an .851 save percentage so far, Samsonov could work his way into a timeshare if he continues to deliver in the crease.
