Thompson was promoted from AHL Henderson and will back up Laurent Brossoit in Tuesday's game versus the Lightning, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.
It's unclear at this time why Robin Lehner is unavailable for Tuesday's contest. Thompson shouldn't be expected to see much playing time while he's with the big club given the upcoming holiday break.
