Stone scored twice in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Lightning, but he was removed from the game in the second period after aggravating an undisclosed injury, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.
Per Granger's report, head coach Pete DeBoer believes Stone's injury is related to the one that kept him out of the lineup Sunday versus the Islanders. DeBoer also alluded to keeping Stone out of the third period Tuesday to avoid further injury giving the upcoming holiday break. It remains concerning that Stone can't shake this particular issue. The 29-year-old winger has managed six goals, 17 assists and 39 shots on net through 19 appearances this season. For now, he can be considered day-to-day ahead of Monday's scheduled game versus the Avalanche.
