Martinook (undisclosed) won't play Friday versus the Capitals, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
The Hurricanes have yet to release an expected timetable for Martinook's return, but he'll miss at least one contest with the undisclosed injury he sustained during Thursday's loss to Toronto. Steven Lorentz may get the first crack at replacing Martinook on the third line against Washington.
