Gerbe, a pending unrestricted free agent who plans to continue his career in North America, has drawn interest from several teams across the NHL, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.

With this report, Dreger squashes rumors that the diminutive Gerbe is headed for Switzerland. He had a forgettable 2015-16 campaign with the Hurricanes; after getting shelved for nearly two months following a lower-body injury in November, Gerbe would end up with just seven points (three goals, four assists) in 47 games. Despite having a low center of gravity due to his small stature, Gerbe lost a step in the defensive zone, as evidenced by his career-low minus-15 rating. Injuries are always going to be a concern for Gerbe, but he's hit the 31-point mark twice in his career and figures to sprinkle in some offense for any club in need of a bottom-six forward.
