Hurricanes' Phil Di Giuseppe: Reassigned to AHL

Di Giuseppe was sent down to the minors Monday.

Di Giuseppe's reassignment may mean that Jordan Staal (concussion) is ready to be activated off injured reserve prior to Tuesday's matchup with the Canucks. The 23-year-old Di Giuseppe logged 18 games in the NHL so far this year in which he recorded a mere two points and posted a disappointing minus-9 rating. Should the Canes pick up additional injuries over the season, the winger is likely on a short list of potential call-ups.
