Sorokin gave up three goals on 32 shots Thursday in a 3-2 overtime loss to Columbus.

Columbus winger Patrik Laine overpowered Sorokin with a hard wrist shot from the right faceoff circle just under two minutes into overtime. Other than that, Sorokin had held the Blue Jackets at bay during regulation outside of a 33-second stretch late in the second period when Boone Jenner and Cole Sillinger both lit the lamp to give Columbus a 2-1 lead. Sorokin is now 1-2-1 to start the season with a 3.71 GAA and .901 save percentage.
