Halak is completely recovered from the surgery that repaired his groin and performed extremely well in the World Cup. How long a leash he has as the Islanders' starting goaltender remains to be seen, as Thomas Greiss has proven to be a capable starter himself -- but for now Halak will man the crease in Brooklyn.
