The Islanders recalled Engvall from AHL Bridgeport on Saturday.
After spending the last three seasons as a regular in the NHL, Engvall was placed on waivers by New York on Oct. 6 and started the 2024-25 campaign in the minors. Engvall didn't fare well with Bridgeport, scoring once on 15 shots in six games. He could occupy a bottom-six role following his promotion to the Islanders.
