Islanders' Scott Mayfield: Tallies first NHL goal

Mayfield scored his first NHL goal and tacked on two PIM in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to Buffalo.

Mayfield has just five appearances this season, but the 20:18 of ice time he saw was easily the highest to date. The blueliner also accumulated eight blocked shots Saturday, attempting to make a name for himself by putting his body on the line. The 23-year-old may not see time during the playoffs, but New York has quite a few injuries to deal with, and the experience would be invaluable.
