Varlamov will defend the blue paint during Saturday's home game versus the Capitals, Brian Compton of NHL.com reports.

Varlamov was razor sharp in his last start Dec. 30 against the Sabres, turning aside 36 of 37 shots en route to a 4-1 victory. The 33-year-old netminder will try to secure a third straight win in a home matchup with a Washington team that's averaging 3.22 goals per game on the road this year, eighth in the NHL.
