Tanev scored a shorthanded goal on two shots, dished two assists, went plus-4 and added four hits in Monday's 7-4 win over the Sabres.
Tanev battled with a Sabres defender all the way down the ice before scoring on a second effort at 14:40 of the first period. He also had assists on goals by Jared McCann and Mason Appleton in the contest. Tanev had gone three games without a point and hadn't produced a multi-point effort since he scored twice versus the Canadiens on Oct. 26. For the season, the winger has eight goals, five helpers, 39 shots on net, 75 hits and a plus-4 rating in 22 contests.
