Maple Leafs' Miro Aaltonen: Signs deal with Maple Leafs

Aaltonen signed a one-year entry-level deal with the Maple Leafs on Friday, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.

Aaltonen has spent the 2016-17 season playing for Vityaz Podolsk of the KHL. In 59 games for the club, the young Finn notched 44 points (19 goals and 25 assists) to rank first among skaters aged 24 years or younger in the league. It will be interesting to see if Aaltonen can make the cut with the big club or if he'll start next season in the AHL.
