Maple Leafs' Nazem Kadri: Arrives at camp in best shape of career

Kadri arrived at training camp in the best shape of his career, the Toronto Sun reports.

"The first thing he did was he got in shape," coach Mike Babcock said Thursday. Now, that's not to infer Nazzy was out of shape last season. Babcock clarified right away: "I think Naz had the best summer (of preparation) since I have known him, for sure. You arrive with legs and you feel like you are getting going and you get some traction." Kadri has thrived in an abrasive, defensive role and set career marks with 32 goals and 61 points last season, all while driving opposing stars like Alexander Ovechkin and Connor McDavid snaky. Kadri's commitment to offseason training is a reflection of his maturity as a man and player. He understands the commitment Babcock has made to him and he wants to continue to be an impact player. Fantasy owners will reap the rewards of this commitment this season.
