Holmberg was reassigned to AHL Toronto on Tuesday, per CapFriendly.
Holmberg was assigned to the Marlies after finishing the season with 41 points in 46 games with Vaxjo Lakers of the SHL. He'll get his first taste of North American hockey to close out this season before presumably opening next year with a full-time role with the Marlies.
