Hamblin was promoted from AHL Bakersfield on Sunday.
Hamblin will join the Oilers after Ryan McLeod (undisclosed) and Kailer Yamamoto (undisclosed) were placed on injured reserve. The 23-year-old forward has nine points in 15 AHL games this season but has yet to make his NHL debut.
