Simon inked a one-year, two-way contract with the Penguins on Wednesday.

Simon returns to the Penguins after one season with the Flames, which saw him fail to register a point in 11 contests. The Czech center was significantly more productive during his previous stint in Pittsburgh, which saw him secure a pair of 20-point campaigns. While Simon will no doubt be hoping for a full-time roster spot, the fact that his new deal is two-way in nature does indicate the organization expects him to spend some time in the minors.
