Bjorkqvist signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Penguins on Saturday.

Bjorkqvist was on the postseason roster with Pittsburgh last season but has yet to make his debut with the big club. He tallied 11 goals and 26 points in 44 games with KooKoo of the Finnish Elite League and has two goals in 11 AHL games over the last two seasons. The Providence product could see some NHL time during the 2021-22 campaign as a bottom-six forward but will likely start out with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
