Shea was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday.
Shea will trade places with Jack St. Ivany, who was called up in a corresponding move. In 22 NHL appearances this season, the 27-year-old Shea has tallied 13 shots, 16 hits and six PIM but has yet to register an NHL point.
