Shesterkin stopped 29 shots in Wednesday's 6-0 win over the Penguins.
The Rangers scored three times in the first period, and the only suspense over the final 40 minutes was around whether Shesterkin would record his 16th career shutout. New York's defense made sure he wasn't overly bothered -- Pittsburgh didn't manage more than 10 shots in any period. Shesterkin has won either 36 or 37 games in each of the last three seasons, but he could take a run at 40 in 2024-25 if the Blueshirts keep playing at the level they showed in their opener.
