Veleno was reassigned to the active roster for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.
The 21-year-old has suited up in the past three games for Detroit, going pointless to go along with four shots and 14:11 of average ice time over that span. Veleno is set to suit up for a fourth straight contest, where he's projected to resume a role on the second line and second power-play unit.
