Veleno entered the league's COVID-19 protocols Sunday.
The Red Wings have been officially shut down and aren't scheduled to play again until Dec. 27 at the Rangers, so there's a chance Veleno won't be forced to miss game action. He has three goals and an assist through 15 games in his first full NHL season.
