Glendening (ankle) is free to be taken by the Golden Knights in the expansion draft, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Red Wings GM Ken Holland loves his hometown boys -- Glendening is one of them -- but the bottom-six winger's ankle injury is expected to keep him out for 3-to-4 months and that certainly didn't help his chances of being protected. Since Glendening's injury isn't expected to jeopardize his career, the Wings were free to expose him to the Golden Knights. When healthy, he'll deliver a copious amount of hits along with the occasional goal or helper, but fantasy players can probably disregard him either way.
