Red Wings' Michael Rasmussen: Set to return Thursday

Rasmussen (undisclosed) is projected to center the third line Thursday versus the Lightning.

Rasmussen missed the last two games of the Red Wings' preseason slate, but he appears ready to go for the season opener. The 22-year-old recorded 12 points in 40 games last season, and he shouldn't be expected to see much more than middle-six usage this year. He could also factor in on the second power-play unit after averaging 2:16 of ice time per game in that situation last season.
