Stecher requires surgery on his wrist and will be out until at least Feb. 23, Ted Kulfan of The Detroit News reports.
The NHL is taking approximately three weeks off for the Olympics in February, and Stecher won't return before that. The 27-year-old chipped in a lone assist in six games prior to his injury and will be formally moved to injured reserve at some point likely in the near future.
