Dell stopped 14 of 15 shots after replacing Dustin Tokarski early in the second period of Monday's 7-4 loss to the Blue Jackets.
The 32-year-old netminder played much better than Tokarski did, but it was Dell who got saddled with a loss on his record as the lone goal he allowed proved to be the game-winner. Tokarski has been pulled from his last two starts, but Dell hasn't made a strong case to replace him atop the Sabres' depth chart -- he's coughed up five goals in each of his two starts, and through four appearances he has a 3.73 GAA and .874 save percentage.
