Nylander (lower body) is considered "week-to-week" even though the Sabres were hopeful he'd be ready by training camp, The Buffalo News reports.

Head coach Phil Housley said the team's being cautious with Nylander, but it's not a good start to the season for the 2016 eighth overall pick. After an up-and-down season with AHL Rochester last year, Nylander was expected to at least challenge for a roster spot, but he's already falling behind the competition with his injury. There is no specific date set for his return.
