Tokarski stopped eight of 12 shots before being replaced by Aaron Dell early in the second period of Monday's 7-4 loss to the Blue Jackets.
With the score tied 2-2, Tokarski got beaten twice in 55 seconds coming out of the first intermission, and coach Don Granato had seen enough. The 32-year-old netminder avoided taking the loss as a result, but Tokarski isn't giving the Sabres much consistency, getting pulled from his last two starts and coughing up at least four goals in five of his last seven appearances to leave him with a 3.39 GAA and .900 save percentage.
