Power scored three goals in Team Canada's 6-3 win over Team Czechia in the opening game of the World Juniors on Sunday.
Power's hat trick, the first by a defenseman in Canadian World Junior history, helped rescue Team Canada, which had fallen behind, 3-1, midway through the first period. It was the first World Junior game for the University of Michigan star. A 2021 first-overall pick by the Sabres, Power has three goals and 20 assists over 18 games for the Wolverines.
